Today in our EdTech class, we looked at different multimedia tools that could assist teachers when introducing a provocation or wonder to the class. For my own example, I decided to choose a provocation that could interest primary age students, dogs. To introduce my provocation, I used the multimedia tool Screencastify, which allows you to record your digital devices screen while also recording any voice audio or video. I found this media tool to be very easy to use and edit. I believe that this definitely a tool I would use in my own future classroom. I like that I could have the video edited to exactly what I would like to share and that I have the option of stopping and discussing with the class as questions and ideas come up. I also like that this is something I could post to either a google classroom or upload to my FreshGrade site, to allow my students and their parents to see what we are doing in class. Not only could you pre-flim videos but you could also film as you are going over something in class.

For my video, I filmed as though I was teaching my class and could use the video as a reference later or upload to a site. In the video I started off by introducing the new topic or provocation we would be looking at and used my students interest in dogs to guide our learning. I promoted my students by asking if any of them owned a dog and what they know about dogs already. I guided them through the website showing them the different species of dogs and how a dog looks. If I were bringing this into a real class, I would wanna start off with an image of dogs and ask the students what it is they see. I would then introduce the website and ask students what prior knowledge they may have about dogs or what they already know. After establishing more about what they know, I could then get the students thinking about what it is they are curious about and this information could then work into my lesson plan building. All in all, I found that Screencastify to be a great tool that could really benefit teachers who are looking at introducing a new provocation to their classes.
